History
This dime was designed by the Chief Engraver of the Mint, Charles E. Barber. His initial, "B," is on the truncation of the neck on the portrait. Barber also designed the 25 cent and 50 cent pieces of this period.
Memo
In 1894, the San Francisco mint produced only twenty-four Barber dimes, creating a legendary historical rarity.
